ESER 2014 will make San Francisco prepared. The bond will:

Repair and upgrade the City’s deteriorating emergency firefighting water system.
Fire is the greatest threat to our neighborhoods and homes after an earthquake. ESER 2014 will pay for important repairs and upgrades to the City’s emergency firefighting water system- a vital network of tools to help fight large fires.

Make important seismic upgrades to neighborhood fire stations and police district stations and other infrastructure.
When people are gravely injured, we count on our first responders to arrive quickly and get people into the trauma centers to save lives. This measure would make investments to ensure that fire fighters and paramedics can respond to emergencies quickly during a disaster.

Seismically upgrade and relocate the motorcycle police, crime lab and medical examiner facilities.
When a disaster strikes, our traffic emergency responders and crime lab personnel must be equipped with seismically safe structures, professional work environments and the facilities necessary for a coordinated, city-wide response.

To ensure that our firefighters and police officers have the proper resources to immediately respond after an earthquake, emergency or major disaster, ESER 2014 will fund the retrofit and seismic rehabilitation of our deteriorating public safety infrastructure.
